Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my age manually?
To calculate manually, subtract your birth year from the current year. Then subtract the birth month from the current month. If the birth month is later, subtract 1 from the year count and add 12 to the months. Finally, adjust days similarly. It's tedious, which is why our tool is recommended!
What is the "chronological age"?
Chronological age is the amount of time that has passed from your birth to the given date. It is your age in terms of years, months, days, etc. This is the primary age calculated by this tool.
Does this work for dates before 1900?
Yes, the underlying JavaScript date engine supports dates going back centuries. You can calculate the age of historical figures or verify dates for genealogy research.
Is a 30-year-old exactly 10,950 days old?
Roughly, yes (30 * 365). However, due to leap years (occurring every 4 years), a 30-year-old person has actually lived approximately 10,957 or 10,958 days depending on how many leap years fell in that period.
What is the Korean Age system?
In the traditional Korean age system, you are considered 1 year old at birth, and everyone gains a year on New Year's Day. Our calculator follows the International Age System (standard Western system) where you start at 0.
Can I calculate age difference between two people?
While this specific page is for single age calculation, you can open this tool in two tabs, calculate the age for both individuals, and compare the result. We are adding a dedicated "Age Difference" mode soon.
Is this tool free?
Yes, it is completely free, with no hidden charges or limit on the number of calculations you can perform daily.
